Short Bolt, that flashing test lamp on the coils low side and at the points terminal tells me the coils primary has voltage to it ((not sure if enough however?? use a voltmater over on the coils high input terminal to find out or just hot wire to the coils input to eliminate any ignition switch or wiring problems n see what happens),,,,,,,,, and is continuous,,,,,,,,and the points circuit is working and closing a good connection to ground,,,,,,,,and the condensors likely not shorted, and those are all a good thing n necessary. Soooooooooooo, is the coil firing?? I suspect it is !!!!! Remove the coil wire end from the distributor cap (leave coil end intact) and place that bare end to within 1/8 inch from tractor steel, turn her on n crank her over n see if a good blue spark is jumping that gap???? It should each time the points break open, does it??????? Thennnnnnnnn if the coil is firing, replace the distributor cap n try the plugs, are they all firing when removed from the engine with their wires atatched but sides up against ground??? If not, theres a cap or rotor or plug wire or plug problem IFFFFFFFF you have the correct cap and its in time in register with the distributor that is, which I suspect is so. To fire the plugs, the cap n timing have to be correct so that when the points break open the rotor tip is lined up with one of the internal cap tower pick ups. If the plugs or plug wires seem to be firing, the next question is are they firing at the right timing ???????????????? If shes not in time, one may get backfiring or loud pops n bangs out the exhaust or firing back out the carb etc. Just because the coil fires and all plugs fire dont mean the distributor is in time with the rest of the engine BUTTTTTTT she may well pop n bang n backfire if thats the case, does it??? Or it just do NOTHING??? If it is in time, when the number one cylinder comes up to TDC on its Compression Power Stroke the points should be breaking open PLUS the rotors tip lined up with the internal tower pick up thats connected to the plug wire to the number one cylinder and then the cylinders that follow. See if the coil is firing per the test above,,,,,,,,,See if the plugs are all firing per the above,,,,,,,,,then see if they are indeed firing at the RIGHT TIME??????? Let us all know, good luck n God Bless John T

The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
