Yes they did have a pin andif i remember correctly it was a pointed pin with a spring ball and a rod that made it look like a Tee and it went into the bottom hole under the cylinder now i am sure that it is long gone as with most of them so a not sure here either a 5/8th bolt or 3/4 bolt will work , but becareful as it will lift the back of the tractor off the ground and it can break a posthole digger with that kind of force. But it will put it in the ground.
