If they don't look the best you should use a micrometer or have your local machine shop to measure the rod journals. This way they can determine if the crankshaft is egg-shaped and would require it to be ground undersize if it is. The mains may need to ground too. Your local auto machine shop can quote an estimate by phone if rod jouranls and mains need to be ground. They may be able to just polish the shaft and it isn't scored very much. If it's worn .002" under specs you could use .002" undersize bearings on rod and mains. I think some places even have .003" undersize bearings. Hal
