Hugh, I didn't answer the reliablilty part -- I don't use my tractors enough to wear much of anything out. The fans are simple, nothing but a pulley, housing, sealed bearings and some blades. On the 1st C, I put the original blades on as they were already painted. Far as I can tell they are identical. The second one I bolted on as is, will paint it with the rest of the tractor. Having said that, on my Super H I could NOT get the factory water pump to stop leaking. Varied the amount of packing material (CIH), tightened the nut, still dripped. Probably had it off 3 times. The price of rebuilt ones was prohibitive to me at the time. Mike had a Chinese one drop shipped to me from the importer. Appeared to be virtually identical, except the the shaft may be metric. Have tried both CIH packing and the NAPA graphite coated string -- makes no difference it still leaks, don't use the tractor much, so I gave up -- that one I can't figure out.
