Previous posting tell of 5+ year old diesel being used to run tractors with minimal treatment- filter change, etc. Gas may be non usable after a years setting. Tow trucks that use salvage vehicles gas to run sometimes stall and have to get tanks pumped and fuel system purged to get back on road. Some posting on small engines/garden tractors note trouble starting after setting over winter with gas. I flush old gas and replace with new on tiller and motorcycles- past experience on dificulty starting. Brother will have JD430 diesel mower set over winter and just change filter and oil before first mowing- no problem. H farmall gets fresh gas in spring, 350d with full tank over winter just gets battery, filter check and oil before starting. Gas with treatments maybe a year, watch venting and temperature. Diesel maybe 5 or more years with minimal treatment. RN
