If it"s as good as they say it is, $10,000 is not high, not by a long shot. Most average 686"s sell for around $7000. With most C-IH and JD dealers charging around $60 an hour for labor, you could end up with more than $10,000 into an average 686 just making it into a decent 686. We had a 310-powered 686 for about five years, only reason we got rid of it is because we needed somthing with 540/1000 RPM PTO. I put a ton of hours on that machine, really liked it.
