My 966 had a “minor” coolant leak to the oil at about 5000 hours. When I tore it down, I found areas of cavitation in the sleeves and a few minor ones in the block (did I say Minor, ah in the block?). And mine had the coolant filter on it, it was changed every 200 hours, and I was adding treatment to the radiator every year. It seems to me that I used JB weld to fill in the cavitations in the O-ring grooves and put in new sleeves. Cavitation is common on the 66 series, and the early ones didn’t have the filter on them. (By the way my local dealer offered me junk price for my tractor with good rubber on it because they were afraid of what they would find when they fixed it.) Good luck…
