Jerry: I might point out, I once had a factory SA model 60 blade. Two items I did not like about the factory blade were width of blade. The 60" blade when angled did not clear a trail as wide as tractors if wheel tread was at 52 or 56 inches My fabricated blade is 72" and even with tractor wheel tread at 60" it plows wider trail than tractor. The second item was mounting only to torque tube and front cultivator mount. My fabricated blade is attached at cultivator mount, torque tube and to final drives. I feel this spreads out shock loads. Yes, I know the factory blade had spring protection, but if you set the spring solid enough for heavy plowing, it created quite heavy impact. By going right to final drives on my fabricated blade, I am transfering that impact right to the rear wheels. I have seen broken castings on tractors with blade attached only to front and to torque tube. Yes, big tractors are worse than small ones. It's a case of the bigger they are the harder they fall. In my opinion the thrust of the heavy push must go right to the rear axle housings. In the case of a SA, final drives.
