You need to pull the coil wire from the cap and hold it within 1/4" of a good ground on the frame
while some attempts to start the tractor. Use a pair of insulated pliers to hold the wire, but I doubt if you need them now. You should have a hot spark here if the mag is firing. If not you should replace the points and condenser. Set points to .013" and try that same procedure again.
If you have good spark then I would try a start.
If you still have no spark after the points and condenser your coil may be the problem. There's magnets just below the coil and you can check the magnetism in these magnets with a flat blade screwdriver. The magnets is what creates the spark when it passes past the coil. I would do this before buying a coil. Hal
