Several years ago I had problems with the head gasket on my Super C leaking. The former owner had just done an overhaul of the engine including new pistons and sleeves. The problem was that the sleeves stuck up above the block too far and wouldn't let the head gasket seal. I can't remember the exact amount, but mine stuck up over twice the maximum distance. May want to check that also. I think in my case the former owner had the block decked and they didn't increase the sleeve ridge depth. I ended up having the sleeves machined off on top at the local machine shop. Roger
