Hello, I am 15. I just recently started overhauling an International AI (What a tractor). When we were taking it apart we knew something was making the 3rd cylinder to malfunction. The 3rd cyl. rod had bent extremely bad;thus, breaking the exposed part of the wet sleeve, and the bottom of the piston. That was to inform you the problem. What I really would like to know, is when we were taking the pistons out, the numbers faced away from the camshaft...?? I know they are supposed to be installed facing the camshaft. Should we correct this mistake by making them face the camshaft. Could this have caused this bent rod??? does anyone know how something would bend the rod??
