The gasket is not at fault, The carb is flooding (this may cause the misfire, but fix this first, then see.) In the bowl of the carb (bottom half) is the float and the needle and seat. It is much like a toilet inlet water control system. the float floats and as it gets higher in the rising fuel, it shuts off the incoming fuel to control the level in the bowl. The needle (Small brass or shiny triangular/square pointed rod at the pivot end of the float) is moved by the float up into the seat (brass screw in part into which the needle slides). As the float goes up the fuel is restricted till it reaches the proper level. Yours is not! Either the float is sinking (replace it or dry it out and solder it up carefully where it leaks. Or it is rubbing on the float bowl. (bend slightly to clear) Or the needle and seat are not mating well, or they have foreign garbage in them holding them open. replace and or clean the needle and seat. Then run and check operation.
