I suppose everyone has there own opinion on how much vibration is acceptable. As Cowman has already said, the hitch pin dancing in the drawbar is pretty much normal, if the vibration goes beyond that you might have a problem. Could be as simple as carburetor adjustments, ignition timing, etc., or it could be even deeper. I once owned an early super M that would idle so slow and smooth that you could amost count the cylinders as they fired, it would probably have sat and idled all day like that. I now own a 1940 M, and try as I might, I cannot get it to run and idle as smoothly as that super M.
