Like Eltoro said ya got it wired wrong back to the drawen board as for the tune up yes you can change the points on the tractor and the best way is to have a short screwdriver with a wide tip myself i have a stubby craftsman that i use for this just my prefferance and i install the contact first then the breaker arm get the littel nut snuged down then just lightly snug the contact screw just enough to give some tenshion to move it with the screwdriver to set the gap then snug it down .
