I hear that the hold up really well if kept tight. They have ratchet mechanisms to increase tension on them. the fabric will cut/tear if a sharp corner is rubbing against it also. I am not sure about the cost, some friends just built one 60X100? and I think it cost around $100,000 US. But that also included concrete and installing freestalls. You will have to check with the local laws about a building permit. I think that you would have to but I may be wrong. My .02 cents worth.
