Carpenter, put your tractor in neutral,take a jumper cable and go from the negative side of the battery to the terminal on the starter, that is putting current directly to the starter and it should spin the engine over. If this occurs you know the trouble is likely in the switch, sounds like with everything you did it should start, remember that tractor is positive ground and your terminals are so installed, maybe others have some ideas about the switch. You can always pull the starter, set it on the bench and using battery cables and a battery you can spin it on the bench so you know there has been no problem develop in the starter. I'm wondering if the 4 hours of ignition left on has burned a wire or a terminal so contact isn't happening...good luck, let us know how you make out...Mike in Exeter Ontario
