Oh realy the state patrol was having a field day on the tractor pullen boys with there 1 ton duellys and there tandem dual trailers busted a bunch and impounded a bunch for no CDL , i was stopped the night before the CDL went into effect by a State cop on Rt. 9 i had my trailer and a 706 on and was INFORMED that come midnight that i could no longer pull my trailer haulen my tractor as the truck was 11000 GVW and the trailer was 18000 GVW equals out to 29000 GVW well i had a chauffers that i was going to let go by the wayside and just have a regular divers lic. so my buddys would stop asken me to drive there big trucks well i spent the next two day running around tryen to get in and take the STUIPED CDL TEST that waisted almost and hour of my time and also even though you may have a Farm plate or a non com plate on your truck you still only can run the double nickel on Ohio highway as i was INformed by a state cop that did not see the homor in the responce that i gave him when he told me that i could not drive 65 pullen the trailer . Now you may be getting away with it but they will let you know and since my one brothers wife 's brother is a State cop and we Have Had this talk before if you truck and trailer is over the 26000 GVW then you must have a CDL as far as the medical card might as well sure is cheeper the a tow and storage charge because they will not release it till you show proof of the CDL.
