Is your truck plated commercial? Any commercial plated trucks over 26k require a CDL, farm and non-com do not. Farm plates do not require a CDL, all of the other rules do apply though- 55mph on highways and all of the weight laws. The cops are checking tire ratings on trailers as well- many trailers with 7k axles are only running 10 ply tires (235-85r16), that only gets you 6084# per axle, that almostt got me last month.
