Just rewired ours about two years ago. Bought new harnesses from the dealer, around $300. Well worth it. I made the wiring for the lights myself. Get rid of that one-wire alternator, they are quite unreliable. If you buy new harnesses, go with the original Delco DN externally-regulated alternator. If you make your own wiring, go with a three-wire Delco 10SI. The diagram for an 806 Diesel w/ alternator is almost identical to the 826, and will get you by if you have a little basic electrical knowlege and can make out the colors of the old wires. Whatever you do, don"t screw around trying to reuse any of that 35 year old wiring, that"s a great way to cause problems or start a fire.
