okay I couldn't find a pic of it so here goes with a description. On early machines the front pedistal near where the starting crank goes, has an area where there it looks like metal was carved out. For steel wheeled machines this was fine, when they started putting the rubber tires on, they found out the front ends were too light. So they changed the front pedistal to a solid piece at ser number fs11756. Pedistal = front bolster to me. They also made front end weights available. This is just my understanding of what happend and why.
