TBW, As long as it still fits, I would use it to keep dust away from the magnetic pick up unit as posible. I havent any idea how much rooms under the dust cap on your particular distributor, but so long as the pickup unit isnt taller then the old points n condensor, I see no reason not to still use it. When you switch to an electronic switch, I HIGHLY recomemnd the use of a high energy coil to get the most bang for the buck and utilize the full potential of the new switch. John T
