check your timming and your cap rotor and cap and points and check the setting of the carb . Them old girls will pop when backing out of the throttel or going down hill . Since i can't hear it i am just giving you some things to check the main fuel screw should be set for 4 turns off the seat and the ideal screw should be set for best ideal at and ideal at 425 RPM timming should be set at full throttel for 27 degrees the book says 30 but there was a change and a kit that layed them back three degrees for better lugging .
