If you really do get lucky and the rod journal on the crank mics ok AND the inside of the big end of the rod checks out too(do check both) you might have come out pretty good. But, it might be wise to find out for sure why that happened, especially if all the other bearings are good(I"d check a couple of the others while you have the pan off). I"m not familiar with the oiling system on those engines, but if the crank has drilled oil passages to lubricate the rod bearings like cranks in other engines, you might have something plugging up the oil passage to that journal. The plugged oil passage would be the problem, the wiped out bearing is just a symptom. Better to cure the problem than the sypmtom, or else you"ll get alot of practice changing bearings, and sooner or later it WILL take out the crank and rod.
