If you have gas running out of the choke shaft on the carburetor, you have too much gas in the carburetor. This can be caused by the float having gas in it and is sinking, the float is bent and hangs up on the body of the carburetor, or the needle valve is leaking, or something odd like the float broke.

A drip from the bottom of the carburetor is common, running out of the choke shaft isn’t. Spark at the plugs should be nice and blue and jump about ½ an inch to ground.
