It seems the most popular adaptation is the combine engine of the same size. This engine requires a home made adapter plate about 1/4th" thick to the rear of the engine. Same basic engine but the mount holes don't line up. They can look pretty good. The front engine mounts will have to be moved accordingly too. A nice 504 can be found for under $4,000.. you may end up with more money and time in the tractor than it is worth. I personally like the old girls but to pull one up from scrap can be pricey. I've done it.
