reverse gear gone?..Grinding noise..

I have a 434 International Harvester deisle 1978?
Lately the reverse gear was very noisy....today while plowing it just went...gone!..No REVERSE!....The other gears seem to have a slight grinding noise while driving along now to.Did the transmission go that quick?.Or is this a simple thing that can be repaired ?..Also,the motor oil is dripping from around the dipstick (bubbling up around it)..the tractor isnt hot.the oil level was correct...what can cause this.Gees,,right in the middle of snow plowing season,,,nice timing..thanks,all for listening .. can you help?..Glen
