I don't know were you live but out here in Washington State the shops get anywere for 65 to 85 an hour, put 40hours on a tractor that adds up to a lot of money just for labor. If the generator/alternator was rebuilt it's a hundred bucks an it they rebuilt the starter that another hundred, cab kits a cheap but takes time to rebuilt it, like the other guy who responed i'd say at leat $600 if not more for the overhaul (that in a real shop not someones back door garage). Ask for a list of the parts an labor that was put into the tractor, if the guy knows how much it cost he should have a list of what was done. I boughta 1953 Cub last year, engine runs good, no smoke an the compression is right up there, new plugs an point along with plug wires, it needs alot of TLS, new rear seals, new hood, new radiator an number of small parts. I paided $1850 for it an have another $1000 in minor parts an paint along with tires an front wheel weights, not counting my time I have put into it. Over 3K can come very quickly when you add in labor costs, if you want it offer him a lower price like $2800 an see what he has to say, if he looks at you funny an states no way the you can walk away or if he states ok then you have a tractor. If you want it an he wants to sell it you bought can come to a price you an he are happy with, if your not happy with the price he wants then walk away there will be another tractor around the corner waiting for you I'm sure. only my two cents, good lucj :o)

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
