I am a pilot, but the idea stems more from my automotive background when cars used exhaust manifold heat to improve cold start driveability and prevent icing. Yeh, I'm dating myself as it has been awhile since the car companies did that -- computers and fuel injection ended the need for it. The hot air hose is the coated flexable aluminum type. Aircraft scading hose would work but at a much higher cost. In warmer weather this heat system comes off and I revert to the production air cap. Mark
