You can set them in this order. You need to bring No1 piston up on the compression stroke to TDC, it's near the radiator. Remove the sparkplugs and hold your thumb over No1 plug hole until you feel compression while someone hand cranks the engine. Once you feel the compression slowly keep cranking until you align the notch on the damper with the pointer. You can now adjust these valves Nos 1,2 3 and 5 counting from the radiator. Set them at .020" cold, they're suppose to be at .017" hot. After setting these valves you need to rotate No4 piston to TDC on the compression stroke and set valves Nos 4,6,7 and 8. Once the engine gets hot they should be close to .017". Hal
