What you have read is wrong as steel wheels the cut-off type you describe does not have any fixed year of the tractor. You need serial# and casting codes to realy know what year it was built as over the years you dont know if those were even the rims that came with the tractor new. I would check for casting codes and would want to find at least two places or more they were close together as you have no way knowing what else has been changed.
