I'm not sure how many cylinders are not firing, it runs but its weak, at first it barely runs , you have to abuse the starter, but after 5 minutes or so it clears up a bit, at high idle it runs better than at low. i think the head gasket is ok , the radiator leaks a little i assume that why it get low over a long peroid of time. the oil is good, but if you take the cap/dipstick out while its running it spits out oil. And yes it smokes white/gray/black smoke terrible, it looks like its burning up on a calm day,yes it slowing has been getting worse overtime, but it makes an air compressor sound just after you put it under a load, you can hear that air sound when its turning over, one problem is probably causing another, i can't afford major rebuild, but i'm not affraid to tear it apart and fix whats wrong, i'm trying to round up a comp. tester, i guess i wrote this to see if anyone had anything good to say about that diesel engine , i've talked to a few guys that are familar with them, and they tell me how terrible the 460 came from the factory. however they are J.D guys, i live in green territory. but i can't imagine haveing to hold glowsplugs for 5 minutes and selling a brand new tractor, us farmers arn't that foggy, any ideas or comments about 460's are appreciated thanks todd
