I've never had a gas 706, only a diesel. However, we ran a couple of gas 503 combines hot and heavy, for YEARS with the 282 gassers. At one time or another, both burned oil bad enough that we OH'd them, and I don't recall them EVER slopping oil out past the spark plugs, even though they would oil-foul the plugs in a half-day or so.

I don't think it is EVER normal for oil or combustion products to leak past properly installed spark plugs. That's why they have a gasket!
