The trans/differential holds 28qt. Not the hydraulic system. The amount of fluid in your hydraulic system depends on your system. There is a DIPSTICK in the filler hole plug in the hydro resevoir under the seat. Use it. If I remember right there is only about 4-6qt in the resevoir. You may have your system flooded. Good Luck PS. If your dipstick is missing make your own out of a clean bolt or wire(make sure it is plenty long enough not to drop into resevoir). Using your handmade dipstick fill the resevoir about half full.
