Andrew, Is this for wiring up a GM 10 SI 3 wire alternator (used like a one wire)??? Are you sure the 10 ohm resistor is on the correct (lil No 1R) side alternator terminal??? Its the excitation circuit often fed off the Ignition switches IGN termninal which is hot ONLY when the ignition is switched ON. In the rare event the tractor still runs even when the ignition is turned oFF, I add a diode in that circuit also. The other lil side No. 2 alternator terminal voltage sensor circuit jumps/wires to the big main output stud on the alternators rear. The alternators main output stud wires up to the load (NOT to battery/starter) side of the ammeter. Make sure you have the lil 1 and 2 side terminals wired to the correct location and youre at NEGATIVE ground as required by the GM alternator. John T
