I was talking to a friend this weekend about the possibility of boring out a set of shot F-20 sleeves to 4" and using M pistons in them. Has anyone done this or looked into this? I am wondering if the M piston pin height is close to the F-20, and how the thinner sleeves would hold up. Also, I am looking at the economics of the whole deal. Good sleeves are getting hard to find. I saw where there is a company in California making them, but at $200 each, that's too much for this project. I have an extra set of used 4" M flat top pistons I can use, and I was quoted $60 a hole for boring the sleeves. I guess I could sleeve the old sleeves after boring to reuse the F-20 pistons.
