JB2, that is similar to the procedure I would follow with either on this machine. I guess I over exaggerated when I said "healthy appetite." I was just used to an old Ford backhoe that never required any. But, it may have had glow plugs, I don"t know for sure. As far as the loader goes, I would mainly be using it for landscaping mulch, light grading of topsoil, and lifting. I plan on adding ballast whether it"s fluid in the tires or a weight at the 3pt hitch. What I"m concerned about the most is will the hydraulic system on this tractor provide enough pressure/volume to operate the loader well enough (raise up and down quickly) where it would be worth the investment buying a front end loader? Or would I be better off buying a skid steer of something of that sort to do work around my new home. Thanks again for all the input! Joe
