You should have the block degreased and all the oil passages cleaned of any sludge. The area where the sleeve seals are installed in the block needs to be clear of all rust, scale or dirt. Once you install the new seals and sleeves you should make 4 holddowns from flat stock metal so the sleeves don't move after you have the pistons installed. You will be rotating the engine and this will prevent the sleeves from moving. Your crankshaft should be taken to a reputable auto machine shop to be measured for wear. They can determine if the shaft needs to ground undersize or if still measures std and only needs to be cleaned and polished. They can also supply your bearing sets. Your new pistons may have an arrow and this should be installed on the rods so the numbers face the camshaft and the arrow points to the front of the engine (radiator). Hal
