I'm with the vet on this one: FIX THE PROBLEM. There's likely very little wrong with the valve that a little PB Blaster and a few orings won't fix. Worst case, you can get yourself a good used valve off a salvage tractor. Anything from a 706 up through a 1586 will fit, so you should have zero problems finding a good used one at a good price. You may not be able to just take out the left valve. The valves stack in from the right, as I recall, and the left valve is the last one in the stack. Unless you have a really early 706, the end cap is cast as part of the left valve. Remove the left valve, and all the hydraulic oil will come blowing out from under the seat through the open holes. You probably don't have any choice but to fix the valve.
