I'm pretty sure no, and definitely no. The 340 is the next evolution of the 330, which was a new tractor model released during the '50 series (350, 450, etc). Rumor has it that the 330 is a 350U rear end with the 340U engine because the engine was ready but the rest of the tractor was not. It's a physically smaller engine, less horsepower obviously. I think the 340U has a completely different drivetrain from the 330/350U, derived presumably from the Super C drivetrain, with a TA added and some beefing up. The 350's drivetrain was overkill for the horsepower.
