Those in-line filters are a waste of time and money. If, as you say, the fine mesh screen in the sediment bowl is in place, and the brass screen in the carburetor fuel inlet is in place and in good condition, there is absolutely no need for an in-line filter. Plus, if you end up getting an in-line filter that is rated for use with a fuel pump, you will not get sufficient fuel flow to the carb.
