Well as of today i have know idea as to where to send one to get checked and as far as changing a gear NO , first i would put a digital on it to see if it is running what RPM's as hearing is not a good tach . Back some time ago there was a place in youngstown that would calibrate a tach or speedo but they have long since gone out of business as we use to send speedo's in to be checked and cal. as they did the police cars and State patrol car. and if you wanted the littel pice of paper that stated that your speedometer was certified and calibrated they would do it .
