The brakes on my Super C were lacking to say the least so I ordered new disks and cleaned up the whole mess and they now work GREAT. I did have a couple of questions (one of which I could go back and fix the other is done but i would like to know the proper procedure for the future). 1: Should the actuating balls be lubricated or oiled in any way? I didn't put anything on them and they seem to work great but am wondering if I should go back in and put a lubricant on them to either preserve the surface or ensure continued safe operation. 2: I cleaned up the wear surfaces (actuator external serfaces, housing internal surface, and wear surface on transmission case) with a wire brush on a hand held grinder. This seemed to polish things up nicely but I am wondering if this should be done and if this is the right tool. Also what protection (if any) should be used when performing this (I did the work outside on a windy day so that if it was asbestos or something it would be gone before I breathed it. Like I said they work fine but would be interested in the proper approach to these two items in the event I do this again on another tractor (or again on this one). Thanks in advance. Lance
