My Super C (same oil pump as A) had a bolt missing and a piece of the gasket blown out of the bottom plate of the oil pump. And the plate was warped and worn. Like the previous post said, I laid some sandpaper on a flat surface, and sanded on the plate for a long time to get it smooth and relatively flat. Then plasti-gaged it to get the required clearance (mine took two thin gaskets). I don't think a bad head gasket would be causing your oil pressure problems. Dropping the pan and removing the oil pump is pretty easy; fix it up and if you still have the problem look for other things wrong (like worn bottom end bearings). Most likely fixing up the pump will cure it. Good luck, Bill
