Ok..who said plowing is easy?

Plowed for the 1st time in my life yesterday. I have a lot to learn. Thanks to Huge and Bob M for giving me some very helpful tips.On my first few rows I was leaving a strip of sod and it was pulling so hard it killed the motor a few times. I figured out that my rt rear tire needed to be slid in all the way to the axel. I didn't want to take time to do this so I scooted over about 6 inchs in the furrow and man what a difference it made. Pulled much easier. And yes Allen that sod is hard to bust up. This was the best grass on my place. I was in 1st gear wide open just to keep it rolling. Tried 2nd but it just couldn't do it. I'm sure it would have turned the sod over better if I could have had a little more ground speed. But it was all the little Super C wanted. There is a low place that runs across my ground also and that gave me some problems. I would either bury the plow or come up out of the ground. Had to learn to listen for it starting to struggle and lift the fast hitch a little or drop it a little. By the time I got to the end I was loving it. Made me sad when I was done. As for disking, now I know why you guys say not to put your thumbs inside the spokes on the steering wheel. Disked right up till dark and somemore this AM. Pulled the disk with the H in 3rd adjusted to take the biggest bite. Oh man you gotta love that sound and the little blue flame out the stack right at dusk. Thanks for turning me on to this plowing stuff guys I love it. The second most fun thing I have ever done on a tractor.

If you look at the photos you can tell I have a lot to learn yet. Pulled a spike tooth harrow over it this AM and it's a smooth as butta!
