Yes if you put power to that screw it will fry the internals of that mag quicker than you can say toast. Make sure your rotor is turning and that you dont have a bad gear. If you take the little cover off the peg that the rotor goes on it will need to be timed. If you take the coil wire out of the dist cap and hold it about 1/4" away from the screw on the side and turn the motor over you should have spark. If you do its probly a wire or cap or rotor or rotor gear or pinion gear. If you dont its probly the coil or condenser or points.
