Any idea of what the primary resistance is of the coil you are using, and is a ballast reistor used?

Also, check the gap between the magnet sleeve, and the electronic module. If that is too wide, plus there is distributor shaft bushing wear, spark can be intermittant. I forget what the "spec" is, but the closer the better, as long as there is no actual contact.
