Remove the air intake tybe going to thew air cleaner. Put your hand over the end of the carb. Does it suck on your hand and does your hand get gas on it?? If it doesn't suck much you may have a problem with a manifold leak. I've had more then one that woud fire up but when I did that it would fire up and run from thenm on. What the does some times is pull crude out of the fuel system and clears things up
