Bolt holes on new manifold much larger

Just got my new manifold for my H. Noticed the mounting holes are drilled out to 7/16" and the two outer holes are drilled to 1/2". My studs are 3/8" so there's a lot of play there. Also, the carb mount holes are larger and elongated. My old one had 5/16" studs. Did the later H models and 300's have larger studs? Anyone else notice this with a new manifold?
