From posts I've seen here on the forum to other folks with the problem you noted, an IN4003 or like diode placed in the wire running between the #1 terminal on the Delco alternator and the ignition switch will elminate your problem. The banded end of the diode must be toward the alternator. This diode can easily be found at Radio Shack. Hope this helps. Hal
