The hydraulic oil is in the transaxle and the FILL/LEVEL plug is on the rear cover plate. You may also want to change the filter in case it's the cause for slow hydraulics. Low oil level would more likely cause the lift to be jerky and not raise all the way. I THINK the oil to the hydraulics comes from the bottom of the transaxle. This means the transaxle would have to be empty for the hydraulics not to get oil. If you remove the filter and find the fluid to be "milky", it means there's water in the fluid. I would suggest removing the rear cover plate to empty and clean out the transaxle. Then install a new filter and fluid. I think the NAPA filter number is 1247. K-mo
